Portraits

I have always wanted to do portraits, but life circumstances sent me in other directions. With the oddities of this year came the time and where with all to pursue this passion. There is nothing like painting faces to hone skills of seeing and building eye-hand coordination. And one can not lie – it is the ultimate truth-seeking task. For it is obvious when the skills are weak and the eye is inaccurate.

Here are my current attempts. Most recent is first… there is some progress but ……I still have a long, long ways to go.

He looks condescending ( to me) but envision the left corner of his mouth raised 1/32 of an inch.. then what is the expression? This is why portrature speaks to me.. its not about the specific… its about the universal in the particular!
